Well we are in the last 6 weeks of the year. I can hardly believe it. Some of you are seniors and will be leaving me soon. I hop I have prepared you for your future science classes in college. I hope also that I have prepared you for life in general.
As we prepare to end the year we will have to finish a couple of units.
For AICE Chemistry:
Organic Chemistry and Chemistry in Industry
For IGCSE Chemistry:
Organic Chemistry
It will soon be over. Don't stop now!

IGCSE Chemistry for week of 3/18/13
I hope you all had a great spring break.
For this week we will be reviewing on Monday and Tuesday for a Unit 7 Redox Reactions Test on Wednesday, 3/20/13.
On Thursday we will be starting a new unit. Unit 8 Equilibrium and Rates of Reaction. You will need to do all the reading and work on the worksheets assigned. I am planning to go to the library on Friday to do a PhET Virtual lab on Equilibrium. Please study and work hard because the year will be over before we know it.

Cambridge Tests
Since they have published the Cambridge test dates and they begin in early May we need to really work hard to cover what we need to cover. You will be responsible for more book work and we will be doing more Cambridge labs. I know you want to do well on the test so let's work together to get this done.

Absence
I want to apologized because I have been out for almost a week with strep throat. But Monday will begin a new week which will be filled with learning. I want to remind everyone of things you can do to remain healthy.
1. If you are sick STAY HOME! This is should help stop the spread of more illness.
2. Coughing or sneezing into your elbow stops the spread of germs.
3. WASH YOUR HANDS!
AICE Chemistry will be finishing their labs from last week. Specifically on Monday you will be completing the Anhydrous copper sulfate enthalpy lab.
IGCSE Chemistry will be finishing up the Acids and Alkali unit and will have a test at the end of the week.
Stay healthy.

Week of January 14, 2013
AICE Chemistry- We will be doing a Calorimetry Lab on Tuesday, 1/15/13. Be sure you have read the lab and have it written up before Tuesday or you will not be able to participate in the lab. There will probably be a quiz on Thursday, 1/17/13 on the notes so far.
IGCSE Chemistry - We will be doing Lab 6.1 Measuring the Mass of CO2 given off when CaCO3 reacts with HCL. Be sure you have read the lab and have it written up before Tuesday or you will not be able to participate in the lab. There will probably be a quiz on Thursday, 1/17/13 on the notes so far.
